Calimera (in Greek "Good Morning"), a small village of 6,000 inhabitants, strategically located in the central Salento area. It is 13 km from Lecce, 13 km from the Adriatic Sea and 18 km from the Ionian Sea. It belongs to the historic “Grecìa Salentina” region, a language island of nine municipalities where an ancient Greek idiom, the "griko", is spoken. In the small village there is everything you need: several typical restaurants, supermarkets, banks, a public park and a laundromat.
